Elvar Örn Jónsson is a research associate professor at the department of chemistry at the University of Iceland. His research interests include developing advanced simulation methods for atomic scale systems and include hybrid simulation techniques, self-interaction correction to density functional theory and classical force fields based on physical principle. He leads the EOJ research group which is part of the theoretical chemistry group TheoChem at UI.
